Public Events

Let us help you create an unforgettable experience

Our Philosophy

We are passionate about bettering public events. It’s not impossible to do, but only when you are working with a team who truly cares about the public experience at the event. Our track record is our best advertisement: let us take your event to the next level.

Safety and Planning

Not many people are aware of the events act and local by-law rules. Local authorities want to help your event, not make your life more difficult. If something goes wrong, you would want the city on your side.

Year 3000 have working relationships with the right people in the right places. We have spent years developing solutions for events when it comes to our unique national challenge. South Africa is incredibly diverse, and thus we need to cover all bases when putting a safety plan together for an event. Some of our focus areas when dealing with a safety brief, include the following:

  •  Creating a safe, secure and enjoyable event
  • Assess sales daily and ensure that staff match the event requirements.
  • Securing contractors that suit the budget and professional needs
  • Pre-event planning meetings with EMS, Metro Police, RA, SAPS, dog units and undercover SAPS units and residents
  • Event accreditation and certification from all local departments including fire safety, EMS, Metro Police, SAPS and JRA.
  • Traffic studies and parking re-evaluation with a focus on crowd and vehicle safety and ease-of-access
  • High focus on crowd safety and ease of human traffic flow
  • Pre-event strategy, rather than event reaction, to take care of Under age access to alcohol (age screening)
    Congestion at the pressure points
  • Access control
  • Subliminal music control and strategy to predict crowd behavior and movement

Marketing is so much more than putting up some posters and handing out a couple of flyers. People want to be invited to your event, and they want to know what they are a part of. Sometimes the best marketing you can do is one year in advance, at your current event.

Below is a typical list of focus areas that we cover:

  • Are you really inviting your target market to the event?
  • Is the event relevant to your market?
  • What are you proposing?
  • Does the event name capture your idea?
  • Campaign look and feel
  • Trending associations
  • Social media and photobooth use
  • Who is your target market?
  • Do partners / sponsors add value to your event?
  • Broadcast is relevant sometimes
  • Local media can be your most powerful channel
  • Up to 50% of marketing efforts may need to be internal

Value Added Services
